Knock knock! It’s Northface.

I was born and raised in the epicenter of german Hip-hop in the 90ties- where tongue breaking rhyme specialists like the Beginners, Samy Deluxe, Deichkind, Fettes Brot drilled a big XXX into my brain. Thanks to the German school system I was going to school with kids that were up to 8 years older than me- the way they dressed and what music they listened to- had a huge impact on me. And they dressed AH-mazing – bombastic puffer jackets from The North Face and Timberlands on their feet. I had no idea that these trends were born out of street life necessity in the US, but I dreamt to have this unofficial uniform of a hip-hop wannabe. I ended up with a bright yellow H&M puffer jacket that I cherished even though it didn’t even have 10% of the feather amount I wanted it to have.

These kids wore their clothes as a manifestation of their self-confidence. I practiced my self-confidence moves at home after school in front of our tv- drooling over MTV and Viva music videos that were stacked with rappers and sexy RnB singers dressed in Status clothing from head to toe. I was magically drawn to these soft rhythms, the juicy sexual vocabulary that I barely understood but felt with all of my little chubby body.

Till today the North Face logo sparks a little sharp, stabbing sensation in my heart which represents my eternal drool and longing to be one of THEM COOL ONES. Maybe I should get a North Face Tattoo? ?

This photoshoot was taken at our home by Diana capturing some new Northface items for eastend.pl – you can get these at their webshop.
